DI football to offer more participation opportunities

>>College athletes competing in Division I football can participate in up to four games in a season without using a season of competition, the Division I Council decided this week at its meeting in Indianapolis.<<

>>Both the Football Bowl Subdivision and Football Championship Subdivision representatives on the Council adopted both rules. They are effective for the 2018-19 football season.<<

Any 4 games in the season schedule? The 4 can be scattered throughout the season?

I like this change. Great for the kids also...instead of knowing that you won't play all year, you get a chance to play a few games. Also very helpful at the end of year when you have injuries and you don't want to burn red shirts for one or two games.

This is great news for a team like UCONN whose best talent might very well be freshman talent.

This definitely changes our quarterback equation for 2018. If Pindell struggles out of the gate we could very well see Krajewski who might be good enough to take the job and run with it. Edsall can now put him in there without fear of wasting a year if he fails.

Great news for programs like ours. Adds depth and development to your program.
