I would like to see them go with a more veteran starting 5 of SN, JL, RS, TO, AO and bring AD and RB off the bench together to give us a spark... What our team lacks is experience so i think it makes sense to go with a more experienced line up. And press and run the fast break. We have soo much trouble in the half court, we just pass the ball around the outside of the zone. We need more transition points.

And why aren't they running the pick and roll more w/ AD and SN/RB??

How anyone can ask for Roscoe to get a start (besides the guru himslef huskymagic) is beyond me? Did you watch him vs the Cuse? We need Roscoe to be the confident player, at least rebounding and playing defense, that he was last year. When he makes a mistake on offense now he gets beat on defense too. For now he's not close and unless he has a great week of practice deserves little or no time.

Roscoe had a bad game against Syracuse but he is at least playing with consistency. I don't have a problem with him starting however I would like to see Shabazz come off the bench too as he did last year. I'd start Boatright, Lamb, Roscoe, Alex Oriakhi and either Olander or Giffey. I think Shabazz could give us a real boost coming off the bench and so could Drummond. I would avoid playing Oriakhi and Drummond together too much. They don't seem to play well together. I would also like to see Daniels get some meaningful minutes.

With all due respect, why are we seeing this thread after the best offensive game of the year, on the road, against a top 5 defense in the country?

Consistency? You're kidding right, people see what they want to see I guess. Unless you speak of consistently inconsistent then I'm not sure what games you have been watching. Roscoe hit 2 jump shots from the foul line a couple games ago and to be honest it stops there. He hasn't rebounded the ball like last year and others have been consistently scoring on him as of late. I know it's tough for him to get it going as he played more last year but facts are he hasn't earned any time. He was a key reason Syracuse got some easy transition buckets 1st half with some dreadful passes. As of now he hurts the team on the offensive end as he struggles to find his confidence. Give him a shot here and there but 1st TO...see ya!!

Agreed with Mau on this one. These guys for the most part must turn off their ears when JC extols defense. Try to focus on 1 player, Shabazz, Roscoe, whomever, and watch him on both offense and defense for a couple of minutes. What you will see is a half-hearted effort to front his man, lose attention and the offensive player goes by him in a flash. Usually the UConn player gives up the chase at that point. The galling point I see is the weak effort on D.

The same malady seems to affect the offense. I still have visions of Rip, the ever-moving offensive player constantly moving to free himself up for a clean shot. Now watch Jeremy for the minute! He's nailed to his favorite spot, usually on the right of bucket, and the defensive player is waiting for him. JL stays pretty much planted to that spot.

These are occasional views for me, but available to watch all too often.

How do you motivate these guys, and light some sort of fire under them????

This team is obviously lacking experience.. but honestly even the starting lineup you provided doesn't have much experience. Yeah, they experienced an NC last year... but they were literally carried by Kemba who made them MUCH better players all around. Shabazz just hasn't given the slightest sign of knowing how to run an offense at all this season. He pounds the ball far too much and doesn't create for any of his teammates. Boatright actually works to get the offense going and creates for his teammates. He utilizes the pick and roll quite well and overall has great court vision.

No reason Shabazz should be starting over Boatright at PG at this point. If you want to put SN at the 2 with Boat at the 1 (and JL at the 3), then fine. But there is no good reason to start Shabazz and have Boat come off the bench. The whole "spark off the bench" thing doesn't work nearly as well if you start out in a rut with a terribly stagnant offense.

Roscoe hasnt played the 3 all year and has shown no ability to do so. If you think Roscoe at the 3 is the cure to our offensive problems............................ I dont even know what to say.

And Napier over Boatright is flat wrong. Boat might be playing the best of anyone on our team right now. Hopefully Jeremy gets out of his funk.
