Watched Tennessee pay Missouri and Stanford play Arizona State last night. Diamond DeShields was terrific for Tennessee. She is playing "slower" than her days at NC and is carrying Tennessee both on offense and defense. Missouri was undefeated and Tennessee looked really good. Stanford, on the other hand, was a disaster. The team did not score double figures in any of the four quarters and terrible guard play made it impossible to determine whether Stanford has an interior game. I can understand why Stanford wants to avoid playing Uconn.

I get your point about "carrying"the team, but her line is only semi-impressive
4-14 /0 for 3/ a total of 11 points
she did have 9 boards to lead the team, but only 2 assists (Graves had 4)

If this is "carrying" the team, they just might get to the Elite 8.

They can out-talent a whole bunch and their defensive pressure looked pretty good last night.
The problem is that no one else looks too hot

But the UTenn way is not the way the game is supposed to be played.

Diamond is getting back to being healthy. She had been slowed by injuries. Before the season now she looking healthy. Getting back to playing the way she can.

i hate even commenting on injuries but TN was beat the hell up at the beginning and practicing only 5 players at a time for awhile. they just look more like a team and DD is one of the best PASSERS to ever wear orange. some of her passes are just unreal. not only that, but her defense is starting to be just as lethal as her offense. she is developing well at TN. just need her to stay healthy.

i still cringe that we lost to Stanford. we should have beaten them by 20 points. worst team at Stanford in a decade or more.

Tenn has 4 players in double digit that is a promising sign. You cannot heavily depend on 1 or 2 players.

We beat ourselves. Geno let it happen. Lost our over 100 game run, but won us a NC. I guess some lessons have to be learned. A true master that guy. Stanford was just at the right place at the right time. Was a good treat for KLS siblings.

I agree. Geno just let Stanford win so Karlie and Bonnie would be happy and KLS wouldn't feel so bad leaving them and coming to UCONN. He's a sly one.
