I believe the reason that Jim Mora made a point to compliment Gordie Sammis publicly a few times lately is because he knew he was taking the CSU job and already has his OC, and it's NOT Sammis. He is hoping Sammis gets the UConn head job or a good OC job somewhere else.

Just a prediction, but it will be Jerry Neuheisel as OC at CSU.

I also think Mora will take several staff with him but NOT DC Brock.

I agree with your first part. He went out of his way to tout Sammis. Diabate for his DC and then everyone else will be new guys for him. He won't take most of the staff for lateral moves UNLESS the new coach doesn't retain them.

Personally, if Sammis gets elevated, I would make Tracey the new OC and try to keep Diabate as DC

I would like to see us hire someone with head coaching experience and experience with today’s transfer portal environment. I trust our AD. I do like Sammis though.

But let’s be real. He has been OC for two years. Prior to that he’s been OL coach.

I am hoping we get someone with HC experience. If Sammis bolts, so be it. Hes not getting a HC job at the FBS level.

FML folks.

The new HC is bringing in his own OC, DC and the rest of his staff. There will be no holdovers unless the new HC can recruit those coaches, just like the new HC has to recruit the roster.
