My buddy that's a Marquette fan is a Loyola grad. Today, he's double devastated. He's absolutely sure Moser is gone, but that might still be the paranoid after effects on his brain of Marquette losing the brothers. No question that Moser did a stunning job at Loyola in 17/18. Not nearly as good in 18/19, but he still seems to be included on the "coaches on the rise" list.
If that offer is a flat 2 mill for 8 years, he'd have to do something success wise to justify a renegotiation in a few years, because no matter what the rate, 8 yrs is a long time without a raise in this world.

Some schmuck caller on WFAN just said Hurley should have waited at URI and go to a better job at St. Johns. Caller then knocked the AAC which the Pope quickly defended saying the AAC is a strong league. The Pope then said replacing Calhoun is impossible.

It’s funny how convinced people get that bad programs that were once great won’t recover. Tons of college basketball fans thought Matt Doherty killed UNC as a national player for good. They really did. What they don’t understand is that the second you start winning again, there is a huge history to refer back to. The media is happy to put you back on a pedestal, look at Tiger.

When UConn wins, everyone will go, “Well, big deal, it’s UConn. They are supposed to win.” All of this will be quickly forgotten.

Well... people who said that were dumb. Doherty was there 3 years, only had 1 losing season, and they had gone to a Final Four the year before he started coaching. They also had multiple national titles.

St. John's has no titles. Two Final Fours ever, and the last over 30 years ago. It's been two decades since an Elite 8. There have been 10 losing seasons in the last 2 decades.

The difference between this and UNC is the difference between Achilles and a very fast turtle.
