In light of the ongoing surge in Covid cases, the University has announced several changes for the Spring Semester:

- The students “move-in” date will be delayed by 2 weeks to Jan 29. Exceptions will be made for international students and others on a case by case basis without other options. Presumably, this includes athletes competing in winter sports.

- The first 2 weeks of classes will be conducted on line.

- The school will soon announce a policy requiring all eligible students to receive a booster shot. At present, faculty & staff are strongly encouraged to receive booster shots as well.

Currently there are approximately 70 colleges that are delaying Spring semester in person classes and/or students returning to campus including: Harvard, Syracuse, Michigan State, Yale, Columbia, Northwestern, George Washington, U of Chicago and many others.

Many smaller liberal arts colleges have a 4-week January term before the spring semester. That could serve as a model for the logistics involved.
