I just hate when people who should know better say dumb things. According to Silver....

Mack and Stevenson are both under 5-10 as corners and that wasn’t going to cut it at this level of football.

Sorry but big corners like Wilson and Gratz are the exception in college football. There are hundreds of 5-10, 5-9 corners in college footbal and lots and lots of them start. For example Pool and Riggs who were on the university of Florida's two deep last year as corners and they are 5-10 and 5-9. I could find dozens of examples in last year's top 25.

Not a big deal, it's just Connecticut sports writers drive me crazy when they say stuff that just isn't right.

Both you guys must both be under 5'10 lol. So you guys know silver is on point with his statement. "Mack has a lot of playing experience but he’s also been the guy burned with blown coverage on a handful of big plays. Like it or not, Mack’s footprint has been a part of some busted plays the last two years" I guess silver seen exactly what I seem the last two years with Mack. Most of the big plays given up last season and before was on Mack. A lot of small corners today an age thrive in the nickel position, example, Tyrann Mathieu. McClain plays a lot of nickel with the falcons. In this era, NFL teams are drooling for big, tall corners.

None of which refutes what I posted. The honey badger is 5-9. The list of major college CBs under 5'10 would go on and on and on.

I hear you "Palatine", but If you look at the games we lost last year all the big plays given up was on Mack. The tall, big, fast receivers loved having Mack on them. We almost lost to Maryland towards the end and guess who was scored on in a big play, Mack. The last play that caused us a lost against NC State last season was on, Mack. Not saying small corners can't be successful, but small corners are having more and more problems with the new age WR's , the Nickel position is where small CB's are thriving at. Silver knows exactly what he's talking about with Mack and Stevenson.
