At 6'-1" 280 (I think UConn is being generous in both height and weight), Murphy is probably better suited for DE in a 3-3-5.I wonder if he starts as a true freshman. Im not convinced that Kevin Murphy is a quality starter. On the other hand, would be good to give him a year to get stronger
I would guess he would start. It’s not like he needs to bulk up...maybe stronger but not bigger. Agreed. I guess it also depends on caleb thomas. He looked promising and has mlre size than murphy
And I think Pace could play the position if necessary. Need a back up plan for injuries.I now see why the coaches are not stressing to get a DT. Travis Jones is our guy at 6’5 350. If he can drop to 320 watch out.
He probably needs to drop some fat and gain muscle and conditioning. He certainly has the size to give the Huskies a Gilbert Brown like presence.
