8
Ryan Boatright, Connecticut

Size: 6-0, 168 pounds
Stats: 12.1 ppg, 3.4 apg
Class:Senior
What kind of point guard will Boatright be? It’s not as though he never handled the ball for the Huskies, because he often took over for Shabazz Napier in order to vary the attack and lessen some of Napier’s burden. Boatright also got the opportunity in those rare instances when Napier left the game.
We know that Boatright can be a sensational on-ball defender. His destruction of Michigan State’s guards kept alive UConn’s run to the national title. Boatright can shoot and score; he averaged better than 15 points as a sophomore and has 113 career 3-pointers. It is an entirely different circumstance taking full command of the team, and doing it in what will be a transitional year. But good things seem to happen to Huskies guards.

The PG tradition continues next season! His senior leadership will be so valuable next year, moreso than Bazz last season. If he would have left we would have been in trouble next year.
