As this is likely my final BY New Thread, I'd like to do these shout outs, though not necessarily in order of importance:
1) Caitlin Chen - Provided a real scoring threat from the PG position, and provided multiple timely shots in crucial games. She was a terrific 1-year addition a la Lou Senchal! Honorable Mention to Princeton and Carla Berube for facilitating it. I hope KK develops her kind of a pull-up jumper that could make her a truly deadly threat.
2) Aubrey Griffin - In her relatively brief on court appearances she created maximum disruption, timely rebounds, and lock-down defense. It is hard to think of watching a UConn game and not being able to expect Aubrey to come off the bench to do what she does so well!
(An aside: I'll be curious to see what Aubrey and Caitlin do/go on draft night.)
3) KK and Ash for accepting and embracing their switch from starters last year to off-the-bench players this year; and kudos for the coaching staff that managed it. It's never a given, and we've witnessed variations of it go badly elsewhere.
4) Extra special kudos to the GOAT, CD and staff. After the Tennessee loss, and a potential loss to South Carolina on the horizon, a # of BYers doubted and reasonably so that this team could reach the Final Four!. The turnaround and trajectory of the remainder of the season was truly magical and confirmed without doubt why the GOAT, CD and staff are the GOAT.
