Not sure how many will participate in this game thread considering it’s Thanksgiving, there’s football going on, and not many will be viewing the video stream (audio link is always given). If it works out, I‘ve got more.

Don't know how Flohoops got the rights to the Thanksgiving Day/Weekend Tournaments. Its really a shame from the average WBB Fans perspective. Most like me would love to watch some of the Games, but are unwilling to pay for them. The problem with Flohoops is the rest of the year there's nothing on that I would watch. These tournaments are now drawing more Elite Teams and ESPN or even Fox Sports should be broadcasting the Tournament. Both Mexico and Bahamas would benefit more as more eyes would be watching and it would be Free Advertising for the Travel Industry. Hawaii definitely benefits by ESPN televising the Men's Hawaii tournaments.

One cool tidbit: Both of these coaches are in their 20th season as HC at their respective schools.

SDSU was still in D-II when Aaron Johnston took over the program, and he led them to the D-II national championship in 2003. SDSU moved to D-I after the 2004 season and joined the Summit League in 2007. Since then, SDSU has appeared in 9 NCAA tournaments and has advanced past the 1st round three times:

• 2009: seeded #7, beat #10 TCU 90-55, lost to #2 Baylor 60-58 in round 2.
• 2016: seeded #12, beat #5 Miami 74-71, lost to #4 Stanford 66-55 in round 2.
• 2019: seeded #6, beat #11 Quinnipiac 76-65 and #3 Syracuse 75-64; lost to #2 Oregon 63-53 in the Sweet 16.

During José Fernández's tenure, USF has spent 5 years in Conference USA, 8 years in the Big East, and going on 7 years in the AAC. He's taken USF to the NCAA tournament 6 times, including three 2nd-round finishes:

• 2013: seeded #10, beat #7 Texas Tech 71-70, lost to #2 Cal 82-78 (OT).
• 2015: seeded #6, beat #11 LSU 60-52, lost to #3 Louisville 60-52.
• 2016: seeded #6, beat #11 Colorado State 48-45, lost to #3 UCLA 72-67.

SDSU travels well for their women's teram. They had a big contingent in Portland last year and even though they lost, a lot stayed for the regional championship between the Ducks and Mississipi State. Not sure if USF gets same support from fans. Both have great coaches.

Very little is separating these teams, but SDSU is playing better now and has the momentum, now up 4.

I don't understand why José wouldn't call timeout when the crap was hitting the fan.

USF went scoreless for almost 5 minutes and saw their 2-point lead turn to a 13-point deficit. They desperately needed a timeout to stop the momentum but all José did was yank some of his starters, including his best player, Bethy Mununga.

In any event, SDSU was just a little bit better of a team. A deserved win for them. It'll be interesting to see how they do against Notre Dame tomorrow.
