Dawn Staley's approach was to wear down Uconn physically. They had bigger, stronger athletes and more size overall. We had maybe a skill advantage. She cited Page playing a lot of minutes in the tournament, in particular, over 3 days. They wore us down physically and the one player most affected was probably Paige. The game effectively changed after they flattened Paige near the end of the 3rd quarter. That one play even could have affected her the rest of the game with a potential concussion but overall they just were more physical and they took Paige out of the game effectively.

Unfortunately, Paige will likely get this treatment all year. Teams will play very physical ball and try to intimidate Paige. Perhaps the rest of the Huskies will be able to affect this strategy by drawing the attackers off? If not, Paige is in for a lot of time with the trainer/ therapist.
