CSNNE aired a documentary chronicling the life and death of Reggie Lewis. There were a lot of soundbites from JC as well as many snipits from media days, words from hs and college teammates and coaches, and some pointed remarks about the investigation after his death.

If you are unfamiliar with Reggie Lewis, you need to watch this. He was on his way to being a top player in the NBA.

One thing that stuck out to me was how the Celtics were hit with some really bad luck from the deaths of Len Bias and Lewis to the Thanks-dad Gaston regime. As poor as this year will be, nothing was worse than those mid to late 90's teams. No direction, little talent, and minimal entertainment value.

Literally just as I opened this thread I was watching a youtube video of the Celtics and Clippers from December 26, 1989 and really remembering what an outstanding player Reggie Lewis was and how tragic it is that he was never able to realize his full potential.

I lived down the hall from Reggie at Northeastern and had a chance to know him a bit. He was a good guy from what I remember and we actually had a run against him and Wes and Andre at NU. We got handled of course, but we did have some DI talent on our side as well so it was pretty darn fun. I also took a class that JC's assistant Karl Fogel taught, yup, you guessed it, geology, we were all told by our coaches to take that class so it was pretty fun.

Reggie's final year at NU was a tough one if I remember correctly, he burnt his hand and Ernie Hall who was to be a sophomore on the team was shot to death in his hometown of Baltimore during the summer (that might have been the year after Reggie left, I can't recall, it was a long tie ago). I sometime think of how different it was then versus now as it relates to media coverage of these types of things. They also had OJ MacDuffie if I remember correctly at the 5 and that cat was huge, not tall, but huge.
