Yeah saw that. That's all everyone said today. He's he best guard in country and he's doing unbelievable things. He's almost 6 foot consider that and the numbers he's putting up.

On College Gameday tonight Jay Williams said "If not for McDermott, Napier would be the consensus player of the year.
As much as that stinks for Bazz, I gotta respect McDermott

As much as we all think Goodman hates us, he has pretty consistently championed Shabazz while a lot of talking heads don't talk about him.

He does hate us but he's always liked Shabazz.

True. We should give him credit for that.

But wait till next year when we have Purvis, Hamilton & Boatright on the court. There will probably be a thread here bashing Goodman every week. He's already said this in one of his chats when asked if Daniel Hamilton ends up at UConn: "Nothing would surprise me with that family to be honest. Talented kid, but he was tough to watch when I saw him this past July in Las Vegas. Loves to shoot it. Volume shooter. If Ollie can find a way to mesh Hamilton, Purvis and Boatright, he'll deserve Coach of the Year next season. Only one ball."

That does sound like he's gonna be brutal.

Goodman is always partial to the Boston area kids since he is from around Boston and still lives near Boston. Remember his incessant sticking up for Oriakhi against Calhoun?

Bazz is an unusual shot making talent but I hope he continues trying to keep the other guys involved in the flow of the game. I think his no look passing is the best in the league. Its still a team sport.

napiers year is pretty comparable to mcdermott. as hard as it is to believe, mcdermott actually gets more touches than napier ! and bazz is clearly a better playmaker. should be interesting seeing how we're starting to play better team basketball.

I think it's going to come down to if he wins AAC player of the year and how good they do in the post season tournaments. Obviously he has to keep doing what he's doing. If he goes off at Louisville and against cinci it'll help him tremendously

I love McDermott, but why is it already a foregone conclusion that he has locked up player of the year honors?

Doug McDermott ---25 ppg, 7 rbs, 1.6 assists....accounts for about 28 of teams points per game with pts/assists. Does shoot 50% from the field which is awesome.
Shabazz-------------- 18 ppg, 5.8 rbs, 5.5 assists...accounts for about 29 of teams points per game with pts/assists and leads his team in all 3 main statistical categories. Takes and makes most big shots for a team that plays a lot of close games. Is also the primary ball handler in every pressure situation so he's not running off screens to get free in half court situations.

Creighton is 20-4 and we are 20-5 with SOS pretty even.

Just wondering why it seems like there is such a wide gap between the two when everyone talks about the POY race.

UConn's Shabazz Napier shows All-Americans can come in all sizes http://dlvr.it/4xbC1Z

For all the talk of the frosh, the seniors had big days yesterday. Shabazz Napier went for 34, Sean Kilpatrick had 28, Joe Harris had 16.

@PhilosophyByJoe: @ESPNAndyKatz @SethOnHoops You guys never even mentioned Shabazz Napier for number 2?” We did on CBB Live last night.

Shabazz Napier was tremendous today, as he has been all year: 34 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals. #WoodenAward Finalist

I think because people are looking at it as a career achievement award. Three year all America is pretty impressive.

McDermot better not win it when he and his team get bounced in the Sweet 16 like Jimmer and BYU, while Bazz leads us to a Final Four. I'd be sick of UConn having one POY when it would deserve at least 3.

I honestly don't understand their SOS being ranked comparably to ours (or rather why is ours so low?). They've played two currently ranked teams all year, and won one of them. Nearly everyone else on their schedule is laughable. Meanwhile, we have home/home with 4 ranked teams just in our conference, forget the victory over arguably the best team in the game.
