Coming down the season's Clubhouse-turn as we round into February, here are some of the things that encourage me about our chances:

Faris - SO solid.....so focused....so tough......gettin' some buckets.....leading......rebounding with the BIG kids and more. (Area to improve: just shoot a bit more to help take defensive focus off others)

Hayes - showing some tremendous bursts of effort....yet generally playing MUCH more under control despite that effort.....better shot selection. (Area to improve: not sure....maybe find the open man more quickly/frequently)

Doty - playing!.......inspiring!......getting ready, I believe, for a couple of huge scoring nights. (Area to improve; get with it re your passes, my PA girl.....no reason you can't clean that up)

Hartley - more solid....more serious.....more team-oriented (To improve: get rid of the ball to others much more quickly and MOVE after you pass it; don't just stand there waiting for a return pass)

Dolson - unlike some others here (including, apparently, Geno), I DO see her as being much more physical these days.....in fact, it is very easy for me to see that in her game.....spending higher percentage of her time getting down low (( "Tangsa God"...now THAT'S Italian)).....acting more like she actually WANTS to grab a freakin rebound......less hesitation and floundering re putting the damn ball back UP when she gets hold of a miss........to me, NOTHING holds the key to a championship more than these changes in Dolson, other than injuries. (To improve: get better at all the above)

Lewis - the continued growth of her non-shooting skills......rebounding and defense looking VERY encouraging to me. (To improve - take MUCH better care of the ball......and, if you're such a legendary shooter, put the ball in the hole more often.......... if you can't do that, then recognize that you, like others, can have an off night or an off half, and give the ball up to others at such times...don't hesitate to get down low)

Stokes - seeing a bit more hustle and effort - shooting well for the most part - rebounding well. (To improve - COMMIT yourself, and continue to improve.....and let's see some more of that touted shot-blocking ability....be aggressive)

Buck - much more aggressive......even a sense of confidence emerging......more of a scorer than she is given credit for....less time spent setting phantom picks over near the hash marks! (Improve: continue to make it your priority to GRAB the damn ball, wherever it is.....you're blessed with a big athletic body, so use it.....and don't let anybody tell you you can't put the ball in the basket when you get you butt down low)

Banks - flashes of really good stuff. (Improve: settle down.....don't let your confidence get shaken, as you've got the goods.......decide to be great and PLAY)

Engeln - gettin' FANCY out there. ( Improve: go for it, Kid, and let it all hang out)

Johnson - continues to get hold of the ball and put it in the net (To improve: find a way to demand the opportunity to be on the court....we have the deepest bunch of Bigs in the country, and you are an integral part of that...we could wear Griner and anyone else right down to the bone)

Now that I've shoveled the s _ _ _, gotta go shovel the s _ _ _ so the company can get in the driveway. Go Huskies. Stay well Yarders.
