It happens every year. the defense gets leaner, meaner, tougher, tighter and more energetic. I look at this team and I see a full and half court press with steals and deflections being converted into points because you have three bona fide scorers on the team in Lou, CD and Azzi. True, no one went to the basket like CW, but no one can shoot like Azzi or move without the ball like Caroline who, at 6'2" with a strong 3 point shot, is a good size guard with a lot of savvy. We also have not had a sub like Lou in a long time with her 3 point range and pull up jumpers. Instant offense off the bench. For calming, I like the new assistant coach. something Bueckers, and a mature Nika who will be the vocal leader of this team. Plus, plus, plus, what unites players more than anything? It's the common cause and the loss of Paige and now Ice. It's what they have gone through already this season. Us against the World, a World who disrespects us.
