We’ve lost two games this year, both to very good teams. To put this in perspective here are the loses we’ve had (and how many points we lost by) since the 2000-2001 season: # loses 00-01 3 ND (16) TN (4) ND (15) 01-02 0 02-03 1 Villanova (4) 03-04 5 Duke (1) ND (15) Villanova (3) Boston College (3) 04-05 8 North Carolina (13) Arizona St (11) Michigan ST (16) TN (1) ND (6) Rutgers (14) Boston College (3) Stanford (17) 05-06 5 North Carolina (13) TN (9) Rutgers (4) Rutgers (6) Duke ( 2 in OT) 06-07 4 TN (6) North Carolina (6) Rutgers (8) LSU (23) 07-08 2 Rutgers (2) Stanford (9) 08-09 0 09-10 0 10-11 2 Stanford (12) ND (9) 11-12 5 Baylor (5) ND (7) Saint Johns (3) ND (13) ND (8) 12-13 4 ND (1) Baylor (6) ND (9 triple OT) ND (3) 13-14 0 14-15 1 Stanford (2) 15-16 0 16-17 1 Miss St (2 in OT) 17-18 1 ND (2) 18-19 3 Baylor (11) Louisville (11) ND (5) 19-20 YTD 2 Baylor (16) Oregon (18) Uconn WBB has been among the most dominate college sports teams ever, men’s or women’s, for a long time. If we lose four games this year, a not unlikely outcome, this will be considered a down year. Think about what that says about our program. In sports, as in the rest of life, there are loses. Fortunately for us Uconn WBB fans, not very many. The loses to Baylor and Oregon this year were frustrating, but nothing compared to the loses to ND over the years, Or the string of wins by Rutgers back in the day. They really hurt!!!
