from the Syracuse board. I think they are realizing that they're not as good as they thought they were.

Much as I thought we should have won 2 out of 3, I think a 2 loss season given the level of competition is still noteworthy. Invincible no, but still decent odds. That said, I will probably have them in my final four and be knocked out in the second round.

The best thing is that none of the deserters made it to the last game. Enjoy Greensboro!

That is an outstanding basketball team that had an outstanding season. Ultimately, how they are perceived will depend on how they do from here on in,.

But the one thing I can guaranty you is that the way their fans view their achievements, prospects going forward and talent is as irrelevant to anything as irrelevant can be.

I saw a bunch of cuse fans wearing shirts that proclaimed 2011-2012 "2nd big east team ever to finish regular season with only one loss", and 31-1, and Number 1 seed in Big East Tournament.

History is NOT on their side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I believe they have reached the Elite 8 twice since 96 and one of those times they won it with Melo. By the way we beat their TWICE that year, once in HTFD and once at MSG for the title. Their chances prob lie with the matchups although they will be playing practically a home game in Boston---easy trip on I-90. (Regional)

Lots of pressure for them to get past the sweet 16 this year. If they get eliminated in 3rd round again, that board is gonna go into an epic atomic meltdown.

These guys should ask for a refund LOL. The fruits are overrated as usual. I get the feeling some mid-major might know them out by jacking up 3s. There is nothing dominating about that team.

What would be better than some team like stony brook or Belmont knocking those suckholes out, ( can you say richmond spiders) bad mojo in orange land. Players yelling at each other. The obligatory tournament yahoo scandal, etc.... I can feel the pressure of their fan bases collective heads exploding from here. I love it.

I agree that history is not on their side but partly because Boeheim is not a great in game coach. His zone confounds many teams but when faced with a team that beats it, like Cincinnati did, he has no response. I'd rather have a battler like Calhoun who usually can get his guys to grind it out.

They are the better team this year, how much better though ATM? Two games in three weeks and they have won, but not by a lot. For them to not do better against a team that (to quote a Cuse fan) "is crappy" either doesn't bode well for them or bodes well for UConn. We shall see.

One thing that will be interesting will be the reffing OOC. While the BE has a tendency to "let them play", the whistle is a bit quicker in the NCAAT which has been the downfall for clubs like UL/Pitt and Cuse recently. The grabbing/handchecking especially could cost UL and Cuse in the tournament. I have no problem with them doing it in the BE, because it's not often called, but it's not easy to "stop" doing it in the NCAAT where it is called more often.
