UConn doesn't owe Ollie anything. Ray made over $180 million in his playing career, if he wants to pay his friend he should.

Ray and Calhoun are similar in a lot of ways. They are very proud and stubborn and disciplined in their ways. This isn't the first disagreement they have had. I don't worry about their relationship. Ray feels just as much loyalty to KO as he does to Calhoun...he feels he would not be the person and player he became without the example set by KO when he came on campus. He has said that many times about both KO and Calhoun. Their situation will be fine.

You can view the Ollie contract in a few different ways. And mostly it is not black & white as many of you portray. (and that is not meant to be the racial play KO unfortunately took it) He was fired because he did not achieve the expectations of UConn BB. The Universities charges of rule breaking - in contrast to the sport's environment we are in - are not earth-shattering.
