You used the word "idiocy" and "BCS selection process" in the title. A bit redundant, no?

And, let's not downplay the fact that ever since OK State lost to ISU, for the past 2 weeks, every single ESPN analyst has basically lobbied for this rematch to occur. They used buzz words like "eye test" to openly campaign for this to happen. Don't think for one second that the lobbying from every single ESPN analyst didn't have any influence on the voters.

So it rings hollow when guys like Herbstreit lament about Boise being shut out of a BCS bowl because it's all about "selling tickets and hotel rooms" when his employer is implicit in this action.

Sheep mentality is not new or surprising. This kind of clueless trend voting happens in the stock market all the time.

I give a pass to anyone who ranked Stanford higher than Oregon. One loss is better than two although you can argue that if Stanford had LSU on their schedule (like Oregon did) then they probably would have two losses. Still, it's all speculation and opinion since teams never play the exact same schedule (and neither could they). As for the Va Tech / Clemson comparison, that's a lot less understandable. Va Tech making a BCS bowl with their schedule and having two losses (and losses by a significant margin at that) is a joke.
