Fun watch. Thanks for posting. The thing I got from that is the speed with which Oregon executes their offense. Everyone knows exactly what they are doing is it looks incredibly synchronized and fast paced or the opposite of when we try to run it.

The best part of watching this video after seeing our own offense this season is please kill me.

I think we should add the swinging gate play that about four or five teams have run in bowl games over the past week.

The way that GDL teaches our offensive linemen, a swinging gate is the result anyway so we may as well do it by design.

We need a ton more speed to make that work.

On a side note, I can't believe how fast DeAnthony Thomas looks on the field for Oregon. Does anyone know his 40 time? Just a ridiculous athlete.

Hand High of Madison ran a variation of that when they housed Xavier at Xavier.
Tempted to make a McHugh reference here, but I won't

That was a great watch. The author makes the comment that Oregon "executes" better even though half of the PAC runs some level of zone read. It's a little easier to execute when you're recruiting the level of speed that Oregon has been over the past several years.

Great video. It confirms a lot in my mind. Watch it and think about our line blocking scheme and our running success. McCombs cannot read the hole on the fly which is often counterflow. Our lineman zone block and can't find their targets and they don't get off the ball. The is PP and GDL malpractice. It's not the kids per se. They impose a scheme they does not fit. Now, throw Scotty in the mix with wildcat. Did he ever once option off of it? No. It was little more than a dealyed quarterback draw with no pass threat.

As for tempo watching Texas A@M and OK running at a really quick pace and no huddle you realize the level of understanding their coaching staffs have instilled in the players. To be able to do this you need to be great teachers, it's not just the idea of doing it. Last year these guys we have (Bartles and James) seemed to be confusing our players whether it be the offensive line schemes, substitutions, wildcat or not to wildcat, etc. so we lost rhythum on offense. God forbid we ran no huddle and put the defense at a disadvantage. This coming season if we stick with Lyle McCombs at RB and no one else is in rotation in game one you will know all you need to know about these guys.
