That tomahawk was right handed. Solo is a lefty with an injured left wrist. Take a look at that dunk again and imagine doing it, let alone with your off hand. These guys are so talented.

I’m really happy that Solo had a nice game. He’s a had a rough season, but I get why Hurley sticks with him through it. He’s a baller and just when you count him out, he goes and makes the plays we need him to make. I’m really hopeful to see him back next season fully healed and ready to punch his ticket to the NBA.

For some reason he always favored dunking with his right hand even before the injury.

Maybe he feels more comfortable dunking with his right hand to reduce the chance of injuring his shooting hand? Just a wild guess.

Some guys are just more comfortable with certain actions with one hand over another.

I shoot right-handed, but have better feel for dribbling and taking layups left-handed. (I'm also ambidextrous, which helps.)

The dunk was a big play, but he needs to clean up the stuff that came after. He hasn't shown a great feel for "winning time" plays. Still time to forge that legacy...

He made a key layup off a pass from Reed late in the Duke game, and that huge and 1 as well. I don't think we need to worry about him making the right decisions in crunch time. It's simply about execution.

I'm ambi-disasterous myself.

I was with you until you said this. Solo can be a good College player but he doesn't have the height or skills to be an NBA player. He is a very inconsistent shooter and doesn't shoot well when moving coming off screens and he is not someone that drives well. He also doesn't play any defense which is tough unless you are an elite shooter who can come off the bench.

I also read a quote from Solo this morning that his injury happened in the first half and this tomahawk dunk was later in the 2nd half...so he did that on his injured foot. Pretty insane. He basically said his adrenaline was so high he didn't feel any pain. I fully expect him to play tonight and he didn't really look hobbled in the 2nd half of that Illinois game so I think he'll be good to go. The think the boot was just being overly cautious to make sure he's as close to 100% as he can be.

Yeah. I don’t really expect him to have a big NBA career, but I did think at one time that he’d play himself into an initial contract. That’s fine if not, I just want to see him have a healthy season in which he shoots at a respectable clip. Coming into this season he was projected as a 2026 second rounder. His listed height is 6’4”, which is adequate. He looks more like 6’2”, so you may be onto something there too.

I mean if he finds his 3 point shot next year and shoots near 40% he has a shot at least of a 2nd round pick.
