UConn softball is currently 11-4, all road/neutral games of course. This coming weekend they play in the JMU Invitational, host JMU is ranked 24 in at least 1 poll.

The new coach appears to be getting it done. It's been a long time since we've been relevant.

There is no excuse for UConn to be as bad as they’ve been in softball, women’s lacrosse, and women’s soccer. And as mediocre as they’ve been in women’s hockey. The best women’s program in the country resides in Storrs and that alone should lift all the other women’s programs in Storrs to NCAA tournament level quality. It takes the right coaching hires to make it happen and that has been lacking big time recently. Hopefully the new softball coach is the start of that.

And women’s hockey is in the HE semifinals this weekend.

I am curious if this is related to a recruiting bump with the new facilities, new coach or combination of both. Either way it's great to see.

Here’s the early RPI. Three AAC teams above us, UHa right near us and BC in top 100 on the schedule.

UConn #51 in RPI
