World Cup 2014 Draw is being held tomorrow from Brazil, Friday 12/6, 11:30 ET on ESPN2. (will be shown live in 190+ nations). It's kind of a big deal. (not sure if Ron Burgundy will be there or not)

4 pots of 32 teams to be drawn into 8 groups (A-H).

Pot 1 (seeded teams) - Brazil (host - will be in Group A), Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Uruguay

Pot 2 (Africa/S. American teams) - Algeria, Cameroon, Chile, Ecuador, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria

Pot 3 (Our Federation and Asian Fed) - Australia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Iran, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, USA

Pot 4 (Rest of Europe) - Bosnia&Herzegovina, Croatia, England, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia

One of the Pot 4 teams will be drawn into Pot 2 to even them up. Groups will also be geographically separated. e.g. can't have 2 S. American teams in same group, can't have more than 2 European teams in same group.

Will probably be a tough draw for USA, since we can't get any of the teams from our Pot (which is the weakest Pot). Could end up with something like Argentina, Netherlands, USA and Italy. Ouch. Best would probably be Switzerland, Algeria, USA and Greece.

I've seen a few gripes out there that this set-up is somehow unfair to the USA. Seems fair enough to me. Just win, baby!

Damn. USA in Group G with..........Germany, Ghana and Portugal. OUCH!!!

Wow. That sucks.
Yes it does.

Other tough groups.
Group B - Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Australia
Group D - Uruguay, Italy, England, Costa Rica

First game Group B, Spain/Netherlands. Final from 2010.

Juergen vs Germany will be pretty epic. I think the worst part of the draw is the 8000+ miles of travel in group play.

Tough. Have to beat Ghana this time. And please, please, no goals allowed in the first 5 minutes.

Plus 2 games up north near Equator.
