I personally hope he doesn't play. My worst nightmare is him severely injuring something and then being forced to spend the summer in rehab instead of being healthy and working on his game.

We really have a chance to do something next year and I don't want to take the smallest chance we jeopardize that. We're finishing the our history in the Big East with a meaningless regular season game against Providence. It's going to suck regardless of the outcome.

If there is a chance of exacerabating the injury he won't play. If not, he will. No doctor is going to let him on the floor if he is in danger doing further damage.

10,167 will want him to play. If he is cleared by the doctors, I hope he plays.

If that's the case I guess he won't be playing. It's so easy to mess up your ankle when it's already weakened like that.

I should have been more clear. If its just a sprained ankle and the danger is simply aggravating s sprain I would bet anything he plays. However, if its a hairline fracture or some kind or some other injury that could endanger his future he won't. If its just a sprain there ain't no way bazz won't just tighten the laces and give it a go.

One side of me says "HELL YES!" I want to see 20 Ws this year.
The other side says "HELL NO!" I don't want to see Bazz make his injury any more severe in a game that really doesn't mean much beyond an emotional level.

He plays so hard... Only one speed for him... I hope he sits. Result obviously means little, but I'd like to see us show up without him and win a huge one for Ollie even mega shorthanded and playing a team with their postseason on the line.

Lets start that string of 20 win seasons now. I'm one to believe Ollie has a long streak of those in him. If he can do what he's done this year with this shorthanded team... Sky is the limit when were stocked

Im confused why people don't want Bazz to play if its just a sprained ankle and not something more serious that might lead to a career threatening issue. If its just a fricken ankle he better play. Why on God's green earth wouldn't he????

I think odds are we've seen Shabazz play his last game in a UConn jersey.

The bigger problem is messing up a knee as they will heavily tape his ankle sending all the stress to his knee.

Shabazz is not going to the NBA.

Why do you think that? He has had a very productive season in terms of shooting percentages, assist/turnover ratio, and leadership. He's not going to get any taller or more athletic with another year of school, and that's what would really help his draft stock.

I'd be interested to know, in the history of the world, how many people have blown out a knee as a result of a sprained ankle. In 15 years of playing competitive sports and working closely with people in sports medicine I don't remember ever seeing that.

It's not a sprained ankle, it's a sprained foot, the same foot that he played injured on for about half the season last year, the same foot he re-injured trying out for Puerto Rico, and the same foot he had operated on during the summer. Given all of this, there obviously needs to be some caution taken.

Same foot, but same injury? Big difference.

I wish some sportsbook offered such odds, I would pound he's staying

as for playing today, if he can do extended damage to himself nobody is going to let him play

if it's a question about tolerance, it's a game time decision

if it's a question about effectiveness, he's playing, there is nobody else

If there was the chance of re-aggravating the injury, he would've already been ruled out. I'll bet anything he plays.

Of course, if I'm wrong and there's a chance he can do more damage, then he has to sit. No need risking his basketball future for one game.

Whatever is best for Bazz. If he's leaving I wouldn't want him to damage his draft status. If he is staying, as much as I want a 20 win season for Ollie, neither he nor Bazz need to take the chance of more serious damage. Let's hope Boat and the crew can bring the W home.
