If you had to pick one event that caused our banishment to mid-major status, it was the hiring of Paul Pasqualoni.

It signified to the entire college sports landscape that we had no interest in big-time college football and simply wanted to consolidate our meager gains with a safe choice.

He should never have been hired........but Manual is probably killing himself over granting him a 2nd chance, just an awful decision. Not so sure the basketball programs get hurt at all by this mess but it certainly doesn't help matters.........when Snider comes to visit vs Michigan and all the fans stay outside to tailgate because they're scared to death of the can o'whoopa** that awaits their Huskies, it won't look good!

Uh, what small market? 30th plus 1/3rd of the state is in NYC. If you add Fairfield to Hartford, the market is the 20th biggest in the USA, ahead of St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte, Indy, San Diego, etc.

Pasqualoni needs to be fired this week, we can't be messing around the stakes are way too high. Anymore days he's coaching is setting back our football and overall athletic department back so freaking far. We have to show we are serious to the power conferences, Pasqualoni's coaching is beyond unacceptable, we are unprepared in every facet of the game. I don't blame Warde for the position we are in but if he doesn't take decisive action on this, I am done with him.

And you think that will "kill" our basketball program? We have alums from Ray Allen to Kemba Walker. Brand new $60million practice facility. KO as our head coach. We can play in the horizon league and still draw in 5 star recruits to lead us to final fours. Look at SMU recently drawing in Mudiay. Look at VCU and Butler making final fours. Real conferences? With Louisville, Cincy, Memphis, now SMU, that seems pretty real to me. This year there could be 4 top 25 teams all year from the AAC.

now on the contrary, look at LSU, Alabama, USC, Clemson, and South Carolina. What do they all have in common? Terrific football programs and god awful basketball program.

Tonight was an absolute disgrace, there is no reason that PP has a job in the morning.

The hoops program is surging forward, while the football program, the supposed 'money' program is falling ten years behind...

To be fair, we haven't demonstrated that yet. There's a good chance we can, but it's yet to be proven.
