It’s not a hedge, it’s not drop coverage, it’s not help and recover. We apparently just want to slide horizontally, not disrupt the ball handler, and then not cover the guy rolling to the hoop. Either hedge, or don’t.

You have to commit to the defense you're running, whatever it is. If it doesn't work you adjust. You can't adjust when you're half-doing everything and ending up guarding no one.

But that is exactly what we’re doing, despite half the board talking about the “high hedge” that we don’t run anymore.
