well, South Carolina, Notre Dame, and Uconn, are locks for #1 seeds, and it looks like Baylor will be the fourth ( pending who wins the BigXII, but it appears Baylor is the leader in the clubhouse for that).

Those are four really good teams. Last season, the four #1s made the national semis, the first time since 2012 it happened, and the first time before that since 1989. Is this going to happen again? It might, but not so fast. Texas's largely mediocre performance against Baylor makes the Horns a #2 seed, band Stanford and Louisville, along with Ohio State, will be in the mix as well. And as much as you'd like to, don't forget the Tennessee Lady Vols.

Could be a fun and exciting tournament. Of course, Uconn has the horses and they don't...

Unless Tennessee makes a miraculous turnaround, they'll be lucky to make the NCAA as a 8 seed. I'll be amazed if they make the sweet 16 and a 1st round loss would not be surprising.

One intriguing possibility: Baylor a #1 seed in Dallas with Texas a #2 and having lost to the Bears three times already. Replay of A&M-Baylor #4 in 2011??? There is compelling historical precedent!

I think UConn, ND are locked.
Not sure SCAR, they won OSU by 8, UCAL by 3, ASU by 2, TAMU by 1. Future upsets are possible.
I think the other two from: SCAR, Baylor, Texas, OSU, Maryland and Miss. State

Just to be fair....

Notre Dame - UCLA by 8 (OT), Ohio State by 3, DePaul by 5, Oregon State by 1... future upsets are possible.

We've all had close games. Obviously not UCONN. Point being, I don't see Notre Dame, or South Carolina, or Maryland as locks for a final four. I've seen nothing from any of those teams that lead me to believe they can't be upset in the tournament.

Notre Dame plays UCONN tough. They really GET UP for that game and they match up well with you guys... but they too have had their UGLY games.

Of the teams listed I think UConn, ND, Maryland have the most experienced coaches and players. I feel very confident those 3 will be there. I have SCar in as well but with the way they played in the tourney last year I think a lot hinges on match ups for them. They should get back to the FF but if they get an unfavorable section of the bracket it could get a bit sketchy in the regionals. Plus I feel like UConn, ND, and Maryland have very balanced offensive teams with interchangeable parts. I'm not sure Baylor, Texas, or Miss State have that.

I agree - I don't think any of the other teams are locks for the FF - the favorites in order I think are
ND
SC
MD
Baylor
OSU (not enough defense)
TX (not enough experience)

I am curious to see how the Pac plays out - is anyone out there for real? And my sleeper is Arizona State who has yet to have a bad loss when healthy.

A couple of you are saying Maryland over Baylor. Interesting. What's your reasoning? (I'm just curious)

I think it's UConn, USCe (love Aja Wilson), Notre Dame (love their coach) and Baylor. I think Maryland/Baylor will be in the same bracket as #1 and #2 seeds. Maryland have a severe turnover problem (21 this afternoon with Shatori Walker-Kimbrough having eight of them). Also I don't expect Kristen Confroy to hit 8 three pointers in the same game again. But Baylor-Maryland would be an awesome Elite 8 game.

in which regional bracket?

I really think Baylor-Texas is more likely and eerie coincidentally as relates to A&M- Baylor 2011. Two top seeds (could easily happen) with Baylor, the one seed, boasting a 3-0 record over the Ags, playing right in Dallas for a fourth time in the regional finals. Of course, Baylor lost, even with Britney Griner. Texas, distasteful to Horns fans as it is, might just be the squad to follow in the Aggies' footsteps from 2011.

Baylor in the Dallas bracket seems likely, but Maryland might be a better candidate for Bridgeport or Lexington.

Baylor is interesting - I think they are very good, but they are also relying on two freshman centers, and have no one on the team who has won an elite eight game - it may be a year early for them. But I think it is wide open in terms of elite eight winners - I don't think any team except Uconn will likely be a clear favorite in that game. All those teams have looked variously very good, and suspect in games this year.

Before brackets are announced, predictions about Final Four teams must be made in the dark. We don't yet know who will play whom, or where, let alone predicting unforeseen (but inevitable) events: injuries, foul trouble, miraculous individual performances, or inexplicable cold team shooting.

Good luck to all you prognosticators as you identify which 4 teams (of 64) will go on 4-game winning streaks to reach the Promised Land.

Notre Dame and South Carolina are locks along with UConn. Number four will be either Baylor or Maryland.
