I'm not sure how anything that has happened, thus far, is something that was unknown before the season aside from the Michael Bradley transfer.

Known before the season:
  1. Post season ban likely, of course we all hoped it wouldn't happen
  2. Lamb likely to leave
  3. Drummond likely to leave
  4. 1 scholarship deduction for the sanctions
I get Alex leaving is a bit of a blow, but I'm not sure how Michael Bradley is really relevant. The kid (while a very nice kid) has yet to play a single second in a UConn uniform. It's like a walk-on quitting, a tall walk-on, but still he is replaceable.
The reason I'm not crazy upset about Alex leaving is that prior to the season, many assumed he would leave (most thought to the NBA). The nature in which he has left is most annoying because of his father.
Of course this past season did not play out the way UConn fans would have liked, but I don't see anything that has happened since the end of the season to really have been something unplanned for or (in the case of Bradley) something that will really hurt UConn.
If anything there have been a few positives (as things currently stand).
  • The massive donations for the practice facility that happened in season
  • Omar Calhoun sticking with UConn
  • RJ Evans coming for a 5th year
  • Napier, Giffey and Boatright staying (so far as they have been quoted and others haven't been)
  • Getting 2 APR scholarships back
Those were all things that were unexpected, or at least unknowns and all fairly positive.

If Roscoe/Daniels/Olander decide to transfer, then things are coming unwound.
