I knew this was going to be available, and I think people underestimate SNY in general. They know the rabid fan base that is out there and that CPTV developed and the last thing they want to do in their business plan is to piss off their customer base. They are counting on expanding the viewership - but if they start out by alienating the built in one, it will be much tougher.
I really think we can count on them using the CPTV product as their baseline - subtracting nothing and adding as much to the product as they can. Maybe they have a few blips along the way, but I do expect a really good product (different yes, but better.)
So far:
1. Maintain commitment to live games, and the same minimum number of games.
2. Add pre and post game segments to coverage (to be determined how extensive this will be - I am hoping for live telecast of pressers.)
3. Expanded Geno show (weekly) and add the Legacy specials with Geno talking to former players.
4. Expand broadcast footprint to quad-state, plus national availability.
5. Commit to live streaming of broadcast (charge structure to be determined, if any.)
Still out there to be determined is the on air talent - the studio group, the Geno show moderator, and the broadcast team. I could see some growing pains here if they do not steal anyone from the radio or television teams, but I think some of us are looking forward to some change here.
