"That administrator and player and no longer with the program, and now it's time to do what's right. It's time to stop punishing the innocent."

Yet, the coach who allowed this to happen is still there - but now that we are 18-0 who cares!

would have been more beneficial if they actually appealed the ban when it was handed down
Yup - right from the press release. Nothing shady going on here: "In addition, should we appeal this matter, the lengthy process and uncertainty during this period could harm many aspects of the program. Coach Brown and his staff also agree that it is in the best interests of the program to accept these sanctions and move forward."

Looks like they only need 99,999 out of 100,000 signatures required for a response.

Guarantee the guy in the lobster costume started that petition.

I actually saw this on Twitter from Aaron Torres...if I remember correctly, he wrote a UConn championship run book

Can we go back and re-play the 2013 Tourney with UConn included then?

He is a UConn grad, but wrote a UK book and spends most his time j ing off Coach Cal via twitter, Fox Sports, or whatever medium he can find. It is gross

SMU shouldn't appeal the ban. If they make it through this season unbeaten or even with a couple of losses they would become a team of legendary proportions.
They could cast doubt on whoever wins the NC claim as the best team in the country. I see a movie in their future. If they play and lose in the second round they will be totally forgotten.

This move is known as the "reverse Syracuse"

" oh we are having a crappy season? we will take ban now please"

" oh we are undefeated more than Halfway through? Lift the ban please"

They should have followed the UNC model. "We think we will have a good season, so now is probably a good time to tell you that you didn't catch half the stuff were doing, so even though what you did find is bad enough to warrant the death penalty, you should hold off on sanctioning us until we can investigate ourselves and let you know all that we did wrong. We anticipate having an answer for you in May, but if may take longer if we think we'll be decent in the 2016-2017 season.

That model is reserved for the uber " special". Aka " friends of ESPN" Smu doesn't have that option on their menu board.

This appears one of those cases of alumni running amok.

OBlamo will talk about if he had a son it would be just like Keith Frazier
And that Larry Brown reminds him of his grandfather.
He will blame conservatives for all SMU's problems and that they have had a hand in UNC's academic crap and forced Bernie Fine to do what he is accused of doing.

It's not even remotely surprising that the embarrassing clown in this thread is you.

The problem is that programs like SMU exist so the NCAA doesn't have to punish Carolina.

Wouldn't we benefit from them being allowed to play post season?
