Very little practical implications. This is all much-ado about nothing but worried fans who are scared of their own shadow/ awaiting the next asteroid to hit. We heard to start the season that there would be "problems" with minutes this year that could affect the team. We know that was a myth. Secondly we heard how the freshmen were getting wiped out this year implying/suggestiing huge troubles ahead (2/3/4 years) while many of just said -" it's early and it's the competition (number 1 schedule) of playing against top teams that don't pull many if any of their top players." Now what do we see? They aren't doing bad and aren't getting wiped out. A freshmen team with non all-american sophomores will rarely beat / play well early vs a good team. It's that simple. Now we hear Geno's comment about the frosh "are a little behind." It's much ado about nothing. This is the same coach that calls his posts "the worst in america." Were they "the worst?" No. This is the same coach that didn't start Maya Moore. It's not his nature to praise freshmen. He's not going to do it much. Mainly because frosh have many flaws and are more likely to to be less confident in key situations. And for those that say this class was some sort of super class. They are wrong. Their perception was wrong. It's not the player's. As for Meg Walker, she has had two strong games against the 2 best teams UCONN played against. What did Stewie do when she had to play against the best as a frosh early on? Early on when she played against the best she got wiped out. Big deal none of the current frosh are starting. As Geno said-- each player develops within their own time. Unlike the class of 2 years ago -- you had two player's in Lou and Pheesa that were considered "the best or near the best." In Stewie's class -- Stewie, MoJeff were 1 and 2. And Tuck was very high too. OFC this class isn't as good as those two. You have Meg Walker. The other 3 were NOT elite recruits in which you would think they are the best in their class like for example you could think Pheesa was the best. UCONN won 111 in a row for a reason. They had amazing classes. This class imo is a very solid class. I wouldn't worry about next year yet. Even in Stewie's soph year there were many suggesting she should play sf so she didn't have to get beat up. The other team's have young players and flawed players that are human beings too. It's okay if a UCONN player isn't perfect. The team will survive. :)
