Northwestern outlasted Wisconsin in OT...

At half, Penn State ahead of Illinois by 6, 37-31. But ah-chee-wah-wah these teams look raw, erratic, and frequently appear unskilled. Former Husky Bri Banks is pretty much a non-factor so far. Spann (sp?) is the featured option for PSU so far...a volume shooter.

Other than Chatrice White and Kyley Simmons, Illinois has scored 6 points in the first half.

Probably MJ_Mickey's final college game .....:( The squad finished 3-15 in conference and 7-22 overall.

I'm glad she got to go somewhere where she could get a lot of PT and also play with her younger sister. I wish her the best in whatever comes next! (Heck, she could always give modeling a try - not joking!)

Hard to imagine but Northwestern made it as high as #12/13 after starting the season at #19/24 after they went 10-0 to start the season playing the sisters of mercy and UNC. Then they lost to DePaul and started their downward spiral - to end the regular season at 15-15 4-13 in conference. Other dives:
UNC at 22/20 preseason which lasted until the first games were played before they disappeared.
Duke at 14/12 preseason that lasted until week 11 when they disappeared
And of course
TN at 4/4 preseason that lasted until week 15/16 until they disappeared

Shows what the early season polls are worth.

I thought she was back for another year?

And now Northwestern gets Minnesota: a rematch of their double-OT game in which Banham famously scored 60. This is a game Minnesota almost certainly must win to have any chance to make the tournament.

Penn State drives the wooden stake through the heart of the (rather tumultuous) Illinois season. As expected. It was though, a close game for a little more than a half.
