What are the zoning laws? Can we all pitch in and turn it in to 'The Boneyard Bar and Grill"?

Shoot, am listing mine in a month or so and would have definitely considered moving over there. That would have significantly assisted with the tailgate... :)

My mom's got the listing. House has had a lot of upgrades, you can walk to the Rent, as a short sale it's a bargain. If I didn't have a place, I'd buy it myself!

I figured, if there's ANYPLACE where this would be of interest, it's a UConn FB board.

DM if interested.
Wow, worse taxes than Torrington. Almost $5800.

East Hartford has the 2nd highest mill rate in the state.

Nice price. You could not buy a 1 bedroom condo in the Bay Area for that price. Hope someone snag this up soon.

3 times the tax you'd pay for a similar house in Reno. Brutal

That seemed cheap to me...neither of you should move to the northern suburbs of Chicago...you would be stunned!

Bingo. This is exactly the question. I was going with an alumni reception center but your idea is better.

Might be rezoned commercial already. Prob wouldn't be hard. Although the zoning board has shot down more tax paying businesses up and down silver lane because they're desperately clinging to the idea that East Hartford is a working class suburbia rather that a socio-economically depressed hole in desperate need of some corporate tax infusion to take the burden off of homeowners there... All evidenced by the sky high mill rate.

it seems like almost every listing in E Hartford is a short sale these days, that market is terrible,

Best of luck to your mom with the listing.

P.S. She needs to change the listing fee to $1.00, or she could be on the hook for a 3 percent comission, the bank will set the comission and it could end up being much less.
