In a Vol Nation post, a poster mentioned that Simmons was never a gamer. That is, she never plays well in big games. Are there any stats or measurements proving or disproving this hypothesis that anyone knows of?

No, but there is raw data you could pull together. Identify TN's five biggest games each year and look at her performance in the game box scores comparing those numbers to her season averages.

IMO, from a very limited exposure to watching her games and there are very few on TV anymore...LOL..........Simmon's game has not gotten any better since she arrived at Tenn. This is the reason she does not get picked for any of the USA teams in the summer. Take last nights game and you can see why Tenn struggles against Top 20 teams and especially outside the comfort of TBA and the weak SEC......I do not blame Geno and UCONN for not wanting to play Tenn anymore........WHY???.....To win by 40.......

UConn will play.....maybe Tenn is saying why get beat by.....

Quote from Geno.....

We tried to set things up with a couple SEC teams [Tennessee and Georgia] didn’t want to play. But South Carolina wanted to play. So that’s how it came about.”

Simmons is an attitude, looking for a problem. Maybe a 3rd round at best. 'Course, if the Orange right the ship and actually earn their ranking with major stuff from her, she could go 24-28 in the draft.

As a fan who thinks Texas is the real UT, please don't refer to Tennessee as UT (and I'll never refer to TN as the Orange) Deal? :)

Two are orange and two are UT. Of course, using Cuse, TX, TN works for all.

I just don't see Simmons as a top 10 pick. Possibly second round at best.

There you have it. I took a shortcut a few months ago (focused only on elite 8 games during her 3 yrs at Tenn) and came up with these stats which I posted in a thread by in Sept:

Tennessee has made it to the Elite 8 game in each of Simmons' 3 years at Tennessee and her combined FG% (7-38) and 3FG% (4-22) in those 3 cames is 18%. That's a lot of missed shots. She'll need to do better for Tennessee to make it to Nashville.

Thanks, Cat, that is exactly what I'm talking about. Concrete evidence from 3 of their biggest win or go home games.
