5dimes. Offshore not vegas sorry

To win big east

Ville 180
Usf 300
Cinn 350
Rutgers 400
Pitt 500
Syracuse 1200
Uconn/Temple 1500

I have no clue what "five dimes" means in that context. Does that mean 50 will get you 1500, or, translated, that we're 30 to 1? I'd take that bet.

bl, I believe he means that he got the data from http://www.5dimes.com/, and that a $100 bet will pay off $180 on Louisville, $300 on USF, etc. So UConn is 15:1.

Sorry. 5dimes is the offshore sportsbook.

UConn and Temple are +1500 meaning you get 1500 for every 100 bet or 15-1.

Hate taking futures, but I put a little on UConn at those odds. Almost a bet against everyone else in the Big East as much as it is a bet on UConn.

If they are paying 15-1 on UConn... They have them at 50-1.

Looking at the schedule there is almost no way they can win league. Four toughest games to close - if they dont get out 6-2 it is going to be a long November.

i think we have about as good a chance to win as anybody. the whole league is a mixed bag, i don't really see any teams that stands out much more than any other. honestly i wouldn't be shocked if Temple got a share. it's probably going to come down to tiebreakers.

No offense but that is crazy. Louisville is an easy favorite.

This issue will determine whether this coaching staff succeeds or is moved out. Huge issue. I am not saying this may not be for the long-term best interest of the program with a more balanced offence. With that said, this program had some very significant and early success building big, physical lines that allowed us to run the ball very effectively. If these new schemes don't take hold, last season could be the highwater mark for this offense.

Ryan and Petrus are some big shoes to fill. And make no doubt about it, we do not have a back right now that has shown in any way they are Brown or Todman. We will have to throw the ball to win with this offense and that will be dependent on this OL handling this new offense, maybe even more so than who is throwing and catching the ball.

I sincerely hope this all works, but P has rolled the dice with this and it will ultimately determine if he has a job in two years.

Just got throttled in a late night hockey game and thought I'd come here looking for some good news before bed. Didn't need you and Silver to scare the cr@p out of me with this o-line stuff. It's all I think about and unfortunately most peeps here at the yard seem to agree. Ugh!

Good job by Silver. His guess at the two deep is

LT Bennett/Gifford
LG Greene
C Mateas/Kyle Bockeloh/Bullock
RG Masters/Cruz
RT Kevin Friend

But in reality, if Bennett can't go, I expect Masters to start at LT and either Cruz or Bullock to start at RG.
Stephen Brown doesn't even get mentioned?

My biggest concern at the moment is will we have enough lineman for the spring game? I believe that we have eleven healthy bodies, including a couple who may not yet be big enough to play more than a few snaps here and there.

If (and this is an enormous if) Jimmy Bennett can come back and we remain relatively healthy everywhere else we will (barely) have enough offensive lineman. Jimmy is as good of a kid as there is and I wish him the best but I'm not sure that (for his long term health) he is making the right decision in trying to again come back but I can fully understand someone his age wanting to continue until he is told that he has to give it up.

If you could keep tackle out of the equation, we actually look like we are building something nice (in terms of talent and depth) at guard and tackle. That we may need to lose some of the talent and depth to tackle just to have a full two deep puts the entire line in peril. We will need a great deal of luck in order to survive this season at OL. If we can get through it, things may turn out well moving forward.

The biggest problem I have or "grave concern" is the center position. I know they brought this kid in from penn state but I didn't know that he never played Center ever. I mean Never! and he's the #1 guy. He has to make the o-line calls and not to mention snapping the ball. Would like to see how he does with a blitzing lb or 300 pd. dt over him. If you can't block the middle you can't run the ball. Think they will have to put a scrambling qb in there, cause he might be running for his life out there. Hope this kid can do it, I still can't believe a div.1 school has a 1st stringer who never played the position. Does anybody else think this is odd?

Wasn't Petrus a G switched to C?

Coming soon

Levy, Dick OT 6-6 280 Trenton, N.J./Trenton Central

Rugg, Zack OG 6-5 285 Windber, Pa./Bishop McCort
Samra, Tyler OG 6-3 250 Wycoff, N.J./Don Bosco

Does he really go by "Dick"? That blows my whole theory that no "Richard" under the age of 45 goes by "Dick" anymore.

Edit: It looks like when you type the name R-i-c-h- it comes out as Dick.

Richard

Does seem a bit lighter than in past years from that list. The OLine had a tough time in last year's spring game with the new system. Hope with the extra year...
Levy just started playing football. He may take awhile.

Whether 8-5 to 5-7 is a big step backwards or not is entirely an opinion and you are entitled to yours. I find that opinion to be utterly bizarre, but that's my opinion.

Really? Really? How long have you been watching football???

What if we miss the FG at the end of the USF game and WVU doesn't fumble in OT? All at once, 7-5 become 5-7.

Or we make a couple more plays against Vandy or Iowa St?

The 2010 team made a few more plays. They did it. 2011 didn't. I get that.

But can you seriously tell me the 2010 team was significantly better?

They were better at winning competitive games. If you have a different definition of "better", so be it. To me, a better team is the team that has the winning season. Not one that I pick apart and determine in a hypothetical world had the most potential.

My buddy had the G-Men at 32-1. Was that bad value?

Every few weeks someone wins powerball I guess that make those tickets a good value. Add up the odds - they make slot machines a good investment.
