Of the returning players only Solo has what it takes to motivate and lead a team imo.  Certainly Silas has a greater learning curve than any of those who have been in the program multiple years.  However with how he handles his interviews he demonstrates leadership characteristics.

He may not be the captain of the team.  But he doesn’t have to be.  Silas will be an on the court captain.  Khalid is an example of a UConn player who took on that role from the first day he stepped on a UConn court.  I observed it at midnight madness.  Came home told my wife we have the player that could get us our first championship.  Of course she had a wait and see opinion.

To her credit she came with me to other midnight madness events.  In one I felt Ben Gordon was the player that would get us number two.  She didn’t disagree but saw something in Emeka that she thought was more important to the team.  That he was not only a great player but an individual who would inspire and lead the team.

Cam was another individual who exerted his personality immediately on the team.

I’m getting the same vibe from Silas as these three players.
