Ton of respect for the Huskies in this analysis. They point out the sad fact: as a three time National Champion, we were the biggest losers in realignment.

But, alas, hope. They write, "The ACC still has room for one more school and it is only logical that Connecticut would get that invitation if one is forthcoming."

Now we just have to kick some ass this year so we remain the most appealing team for the next round of realignment.

We might need a national title this year so that those in the acc can overlook the football teams inevitable 0-11 record

So ya think that the ACC will take a winless football team?

If that ever happens, I wonder what would happen to all the Yarders who now despise the ACC?

Fans are fickle. They will genuflect in any direction that is good for UConn.

I thinks it's way too short sighted to think one season in football has anything to do with realignment

Well to put in another way.. it has been three seasons of very mediocre football.

If your drowning and someone is throwing you a life jacket, do you take it or reject it? It may not be an inflatable life boat, but hey, it's better than your current situation.

If the ACC is raided- it will get raided for football schools only. If we are there at some point- it will still be the best basketball conference in America. Good enough for me.

Football attendance and ratings are probably more important. But, of course that's tied to winning. But I think it's pretty obvious that we lost musical chairs because of football. There was nobody who could match our basketball pedigree who was invited to another conference.

It will be like heaven for them. They now only get to despise the ACC, but BEAT the ACC.

But, BC had a great run in the BE, then got buried in the ACC?

Huh? BC lost 27 games in a row to UConn. They finished on a high note (near the top of the league last few years) but they also finished dead last in the league 7 times over a 13 year span from 1987-2000.

They took Louisville based on one great half-season, so shortsightedness is pretty much the ACC's forte.

Adding Louisville was basically the Carolina schools' way of appeasing Florida State after some of the northern additions didn't work out so well. But make no mistake about it, basketball has about as much pull in the ACC. The Syracuse and Pitt additions are proof of that.

(That said, I'm not counting on the ACC expanding anytime soon, and I have no idea if UConn would be the choice if they do.)

Lville is not a one season winner in FB.

Also, I think the numbers in this link explain the attractiveness of Lville over Uconn -
http://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/#week8

Those numbers do very little for me.

LVille was leaking fans and losing for 4 years.

Then they swung it around while UConn went in the tank.

If expansion happened a year earlier, it would have been a different result.

In fact, the rumors after the Pitt-Cuse expansion were that ND and UConn were coming in. Ville was on the outside. But Gene DeF at BC put a good lid on that when he came out to the media and said that ESPN was rigging everything. A lot of stuff hit the fan that day, ACC offices, Pitt, Cuse, ND, BE offices, and at BC too.

So ratings and TV had no impact on CR in your mind? ESPN did not care about those things at all? Thanks for clearing up the common misconception that TV for FB was a driver.

I can't speak for the rest of the anti-ACC guys, but since I 'ave been the B1G is our manifest destiny guy for a few years now I will offer my two cents.

I will still love my Huskies regardless of where they play even though I'm not impressed by the ACC and is sketchy history. In football there is not one team that would bring the buzz of this years Michigan game.
The fact is the only way we get an offer from the ACC, is if we have an offer from the B1G on the table.
Guess which one we take?

D'Oh? Then how do you explain Louisville?
The poster was discussing CR's last phase in general and not the last two dominos that fell. Before Ville the ACC took Cuse and Pitt and the B!G took Rutgers and Maryland. They were taken for reasons other than football. Ville and ND were taken for football! Pitt and Cuse for bb. Rutgers and Maryland for geography and eyeballs for tv.

No one can predict future events based on past events. The situation for UConn is dire but not hopeless!

3-4 is winless ? must have failed math
He was using hyperbole. What's is wrong with you trolls.
If you can't handle a modicum of negativity regarding your school than you don't belong here.
Where we have a good reasons to despise your school.
Is the negativity of your own board two much for you?

??? UConn is a much better TV property than Louisville. A 1 rating is getting no one excited. UConn has done 3 ratings in the past (nationally). 1 ratings are pretty interchangeable. Most top games are 2s and 3s. Above that is top teams.
