SI: Biggest surprises in women's college basketball

Since we will be playing De Paul ( I think ) twice this year,
these numbers (in the S.I. story ) are interesting. Note
that Ms. Morrow, DePaul frosh , is now on the Wooden
list. She was at one time ( if not now ) leading the BLUE
DEMONS in points , rebounds, blocked shots, and steals!

Interesting. Not sure about the part about "UConn blown out" in two of the three losses. 16 points and 13 points are considered blowouts now? UNC and Arizona two out of five or eight surprise teams this year. UNC has a pretty good offensive flow going. Arizona's defense seems like it has become lethal. Should make for some really great basketball over the next couple of days.

Smh....Arizona has played no one, outside of Louisville at the start of the season to prove their worth. Their success of last year is living in the heads of the sportswriters. How else could you give 3 #1 votes in this week's AP, having not steppesd on a court since mid December. This only proves how useless these polls and reports are.

Just above you DePaul is mentioned in regards to UConn. Arizona beat them. So if DePaul is a worthless opponent, UConn won't get any credit for playing them as well, right?.

Not for most teams but how many games has UConn lost by those margins in the past 15 years?

Probably not.

There are other surprises that SI didn't mention.

Kim Mulkey is 14-1 at LSU. She has beat some good teams. We'll see how they do tonight hosting SC. Officiating may play a big role in this game. Even if you don't like her, you have to respect her. Her teams are ready to play, and the recruiting was weak at LSU the past few years.

Courtney Banghart is 13-0 at UNC. She is recruiting well. She will lose a few once she gets into the ACC schedule.

Oregon is 7-4 and were suppose to be loaded. Paopao gets injured and they've struggled. I bet they wish Jaz Shelley didn't transfer to Nebraska. Shelley has started every game for Nebraska, averaging 13.6, for the 13-1 Lady Huskers

Arizona will lose a few conference games soon.

The three injured players from Oregon, including PaoPao, are back I believe, just in time to play us. LOL, we just can't catch a break. Other teams are getting players back, so the return of Azzi and Nika has to happen soon. Rae Burrell may be back for Tennessee, so we need them back, as long as they are able to of course.

So DePaul, best scoring team in women's basketball, is nothing? Even if they beat UCONN whose defense is nowhere near Arizona's "D." Arizona held DePaul to 68 points. DePaul averages 91+ per game. Did you blow off Arizona in the last NCAA tourney prior to playing UCONN? Oops!
