If I was a player I would sue the NCAA on depriving them the opportunity to play in the NCAA tournament (also the BE tournament because of new BE rules) The players will lose the opportunity to showcase their talents and thus hurt their ability to go into the NBA draft and thus hurting their potential to get an NBA job. They should sue and hope to get an injunction against the NCAA on the basis of hurting their ability to get a NBA job even though they all have complied with NCAA rules and regulations on meeting academic standards. That the new rule that affects them was issued retroactively against them. Hopefully they could find a few lawyers who would take the case pro bono. Needs to be the players not Uconn.

I do not believe that they have a case. They are not NCAA members. They sign on to go to schools that agree to abide by NCAA rules and punishments. The only case that could conceivably get anywhere is one brought by UConn.

I think everyone should sue the NCAA, the worst organization with power in this country.

I am glad they are finally getting blowback from the CalTech thing. Usually there are always some who always defend the law and order side but with Cal Tech the actions of the NCAA are completely laughable.

If UConn sued the NCAA I think it would send a huge message, especially to recruits who I'm sure are being told that UConn is going down the drain and their future is rocky. If I were a recruit, I'd love to go to a school that I know is fighting for their players who were unfairly punished along with fighting to get the team tournament eligible

Thanks , I am not a lawyer and didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn.

If UConn has a case then the players have a case. If there is a case with the rules or how they were enforced, the players are indirectly affected. To say they don't have a case is to say it is acceptable that they are forced to transfer to avoid the enforcement of an illegal rule.

No. It's not to say anything beyond what I said. They will not have the ability to make a claim that the University of Connecticut can't be punished.
