And he knows its good for me.Geno always does that when the lead is less than 20 pts.
And Paulido, Lawlor too.Has the coaching staff given any reason for the non-playing to day of Chong, Butler and Ekmark?
Terrible match up? Who really knows that?Geno said he didn't like how Chong looked today (IT band issue). USF is a terrible match-up for Butler so not surprised she didn't play. Recall Stokes played something like 5 minutes in the last game against USF last year; same reason. Ekmark doesn't play in games like this.

Seriously? BTW, so did Butler. But, if you get in with less than 30 seconds left, it doesn't count, because Geno is just going to run out the clock rather than attempt another field goal.UConnCat, thank you for the information on Saniya Chong.
To other posters, Courtney Ekmark did get in the game against USF toward the end.
he's a friend of Geno, and Geno didnt complain... thats why!Biggest question of the night.....how did the refs let Fernandez get away all night long being not only well outside the coaches box but also being on the court itself, I understand giving a little leeway but watch the tape and I think you'll agree.
I certainly recall that I only saw Geno engaged in a somewhat heated exchange with one official the catalyst for which I don't specifically recall (although maybe one of the phantom calls on Stewart comes to mind). But I hope you are not suggesting that the stripes were somehow looking the other way because 1) Geno & Jose are friends 2) Geno didn't complain. I never understood that enforcement of this rule was limited to be only when the opposing team complained.he's a friend of Geno, and Geno didnt complain... thats why!
This rule is selectively enforced. Dawn Staley for example is hardly ever within the box and at least one time last year touched the basketball as the opposing team was trying to inbound the ball-should have been a technical.I certainly recall that I only saw Geno engaged in a somewhat heated exchange with one official the catalyst for which I don't specifically recall (although maybe one of the phantom calls on Stewart comes to mind). yeah thats what Im suggesting... out of the box is hardly an advantage. A coach against a heated rival will mention it to the refs. You never saw it done before?I certainly recall that I only saw Geno engaged in a somewhat heated exchange with one official the catalyst for which I don't specifically recall (although maybe one of the phantom calls on Stewart comes to mind). if the opposing coach complained and hit happened again she would have been T'ed upThis rule is selectively enforced. I in no way am sugggesting that GA and JF are not great friends. I also don't have a problem with a "stray" outside the box here and there. I did and do have a problem that JF was constantly outside the box and on the court and at the very least the officials should have reminded him from time to time of that fact. And trust me it was so obvious tht they would not have been failing to call the real game on the floor to have seen it. I am near willing to waer a significant sum that should GA have done the same thing he would have been told and then 'T'd up. End of discussion.Auriemma also took the time to reconnect with Bulls coach Jose Fernandez, one of his great friends in the game. They went out to dinner after Sunday night's game.![]()
