It's a given that Duke and UNC play home games every year in the tournament. Why is this the case and why does the media never talk about it? The preferential treatment these teams get year after year is disgusting.

This really is mind boggling... and it isn't an exaggeration in ANY way to say that they play home games literally EVERY year. It makes absolutely zero sense and really angers me. It really isn't even about the fact that it is Duke & UNC (though I do dislike both teams more than any team in sports & the fact that it is them adds fuel to the fire), but simply the fact that no team should be given such an advantage in the playoff every year!!

What are we going to complain about next year. No games in NC.

Duke is a joke. How they were ranked ahead of Missouri is beyond me. And how they get a two seed and play at home is sickening. They beat Unc on a buzzer beater and that's it all year. It's a joke

I would hate this too sound ignorant but it will all sort it self out like it always does. We got the short straw in my opinion, but that just means we are one upset away from being in a more than great spot.

How else would they be able to get past the first 2 rounds? :rolleyes:

Exactly. Two wins away from being a 1 seed.

A couple of statistics that will stir some emotions;
1) Greensboro Coliseum has hosted the NCAA tournament 12 times since 1974
2) Greensboro Coliseum has hosted the ACC tournament 23 times since 1974 and will host this tournament through 2015
3) Charlotte hosted the NCAA tournament in 2011, 2008, 2005, 1999, 1994 (final four), and 23 times in total.

This does seem incredibly unfair but keep in mind that charlotte is 2.5 hours from Duke /UNC.

Lets also keep in mind that the NCAA plays in Boston, Worcester, East Rutherford, and Philadelphia which are also very convenient sites for us and it's only a matter of time before the NCAA tournament goes back to NYC.

Also, with the new pod system it does make it easier for higher seeded schools (1-4) to be playing close to home. Futher Duke has been the most consistent winning program since the early 90's so the NCAA will place them close to home as much as possible.

I'm ok with Charlottes, but Greensboro is rediculous.
