I don't think anyone could have predicted that Vanderbilt would go 27-3 this season. Incredible job and well deserved.

Vandy was picked 8th preseason by the coaches and ended up tied for 2nd with Texas. I assume Texas has the tiebreaker. Great job by her. Interesting that Texas was picked as #1 preseason, but SC earned that honor after a brutal conference schedule.

Vanderbilt gets the 2 seed since they beat Texas head to head.

Texas had the toughest SEC schedule, playing home and away with LSU and road games at Vanderbilt and South Carolina. South Carolina and LSU they played back to back on the road, no less.

Comparatively, South Carolina faced both Texas and Vanderbilt at home and only faced LSU on the road. South Carolina won the SEC by 2 games so it wasn't a particularly close race, but not all SEC schedules were created equal.

Totally agree. Preseason Vandy was 19/21. There were several pre-season teams who notably fell out of the top 25 - Tennessee, Notre Dame, and USC, so maybe one of those coaches should get a Razzy award!

On top of that, Vandy was picked by the SEC coaches to finish 8th in their conference. Then ended up 2nd - tied with Texas, but with the tiebreaker after beating them this season. Wins over LSU, Michigan, Texas, Kentucky X2 and Oklahoma - just wow. Losses to SC, Ole Miss, and Georgia.
