Shea on UConn

I believe only 3 or 4 players are not hers. The rest she recruited from high school or taken from the portal, so if the players don't fit her system than the fault lies with her. Her system does not work against the top teams, does not work with good players, but will work against teams with average or below average players. Very good players will not go there to play a system where the best players play less than 25 minutes. She has to change or she will be gone.
6 transfers, including double-transfers Barker & Wolfenbarger, along with Spearman, Robertson, Latham & Cooper. All but Wolfenbarger are key members of the regular rotation and/or starters.

I think it’s more than the minutes. There’s a lack of belief in the system and something is clearly missing when it comes to the things that bond a team together. TN often starts off like a ball of fire. Once they get challenged and things start to go south, too many players all too easily throw in the towel.

As info, UConn has only 3 players averaging 25+ mpg this season: Sarah, Azzi & Ash. 9 players are averaging double/digit minutes, 10 if you include Ice. Nobody is heading for the exits in Storrs and there is no shortage of very good players who would love to be part of the Huskies.
