I am very disappointed in ESPN. As I was working out this morning there was a full minute segment promoting tonight's game using all the negative feuding quotes from Geno and Muffet last year. No acknowledgement that ALL OF THAT was last year or that the two coacahes have moved on from the tension of last year.

I'm totally fine with ESPN stirring the pot on this. McGraw and Geno are both adults who knew what they were doing, and it's a storyline that builds the moment. If it brings in more viewers, that's good enough for me.

Cheap tactic, but it sells and since the "other" thing that sells requires Geno and Muffet to don bikinis, I'll take the year old controversy.

Many folks can't let it go, why should ESPN?
Some individuals can't let it go because they have feelings about it.

A network doesn't have feelings. It makes a calculated decision, as others in the thread are saying.

Am not at all surprised that the parties have put it behind them. Somewhat surprised, and impressed, that Ms. McGraw said (honestly and accurately) that last year's acrimony was on her, citing the tension she felt over the loss of Achonwa particularly.

Never thought ill of her over it even last year. Thought it was tactical -- motivate her team, take the spotlight off them, something like that. She didn't look good doing it and apparently realized that.

Afraid JS you are too thick skinned. Lots of ways to accomplish her mission without making it ugly, personal and yes, fictional and low down. So happy to have ESPN game team heap ridicule on her cheap comments in the last 10 minutes of the final last year. "I can't agree with you more. There is nothing but class at the top of womens' basketball." Pssst: Muffet they were not talking about you, but I guess you got that message huh?

I'm with you on that one. Has Rebecca ever interviewed Tara and did the 1996 Olympic team come up in the interview?

Can you enlighten me on what Tara did?
Back when the 1996 Women's Olympic team was prepping they played a bunch of exhibition games across the country. They played a game at Gample and Tara chose not to start Rebecca who joined the team upon graduation. Tara made an effort to start other players when in an exhibition game in the state where the player was from. She deviated from that when in CT. She limited Rebecca's minutes. Did not go over big with us fans.

You are completely right Coco; my frieends and I were discussing it. Pretty shoddy tactics if you ask me.
