just interested in seeing Shaka’s post game remarks……his fault didn’t get the team psychologically prepared.
Fun Fact. only 4th time in Big East history where team committed 24 or more turn overs and won…..

Anyone hearing rumors that IU looking at Shaka to replace Woodson?
That would be a really interesting hire for IU even though selfishly I don't want him poached from the Big East, as long as we're in it. My gut tells me that IU will try to go bigger than him, even though I think he could really be successful there.

Think they make a push for Brad Steven's.

Hopefully not. Shaka and Marquette are a perfect fit.
I like Shaka a lot. I wanted him for the UConn job when Ollie was hired. But I do think he has some limitations. Though that might partly be that he is at Marquette, not Indiana. Yeah Texas blah blah blah, but let’s be honest. If Texas had to make a choice to drop basketball or drop spring football, we all know what that choice would be. Indiana on the otter hand would be much more committed. With enough support and money his game day and recruiting limitations might well be overcome. Let’s face it. With enough good players anyone can win. Even Calipari won a title.

I think Brad likes the cushy lifestyle of an NBA GM. I don't see him going back to coaching but who knows. Maybe he misses it.
Probably stays a GM just saying IU will try to go after him would think he would be a first choice over Shaka being a tournament coach.

I don’t think there’s any chance Brad Steven’s ever coaches college again.

Shaka would do well at IU, but he’s got a great job and no outrageous pressure. He should probably stay put if they are giving him what he needs.

You can go to Indiana or Marquette. I’ll take Marquette said nobody ever. You can resurrect an historic blue blood program and you think he will turn it down? LOL! If you’re at UConn, Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, UNC, someplace like that you probably say no. Marquette or Creighton? Where do I sign?

Trying to put together championship level NBA rosters vs. having to deal with Hoosier fans.

Marquette is perfect for him. Great basketball school and great fanbase. They spend enough that he always will be able to field a really good team and he's from there an hour down the road.

IU fans are delusional thinking it’s a near lock for either Stevens, Smart or Pearl. Smart already learned his lesson from Texas and going “big time”. Pearl has the #1 team in the country (and competes for top 10 annually) and he’s older and doesn’t have that many more seasons left in him. And Stevens leaving in the middle of a season they’re NBA favorites? Most likely, they’ll need to target an up and coming coach, TBH Murray would be perfect for them but hopefully they just hire an alumni and don’t take the search too seriously.

Brad’s not coaching college.

Shaka is perfect for Marquette, but could also see him work in the B10 culturally. That said, he does have a unique style and it worries me he does nothing in the portal. I love the whole develop thing but one does have to adapt to survive. If he’s gonna jump ship this year wouldn’t be a bad one because cupboards look fairly bare next season.

Cuse/Virginia/Nova/Miami gonna be on the prowl too. Hodgson is hot name and will land somewhere, as will the Drake coach. Pitino Junior may also get an upgrade. Then you have UNC being very likely next year - hear Oates will be a target there.

If you’re considering the future state of conference realignment and economics, you also make the move. The Indiana bar has been so low for so long he’d be given a perfectly fine leash.

Shaka already did the big school big money experiment and the way it turned couldn't have been anywhere near what he anticipated when he took the job.

I imagine that he will be very careful about what he would be willing to leave Marquette for.

He grew up in Madison and if the Wisconsin job ever opened up he might consider. I think he stays at Marquette for the immediate. He is the alpha personality at the school. Marquette alums stay actively involved in the school so I don't see NIL being a problem. It's estimated that he makes 3 mil a season on a contract that runs through 29-30. If Indiana comes after him with a sack of money things might change but I think Marquette would be willing to sweeten his existing deal.

Steven’s has been pretty clear that he loves his job and his life in Boston. He said his wife and kids consider Boston home and have no interest in leaving. He’s basically at the pinnacle of his occupation. I don’t think he scraps it to recruit 17 year olds and poke around the portal. Right now, he grabs a $300 steak with Tatum if he wants to work with the players.
