Why does the quality of this Seton Hall game streaming seem sub-par in its quality? Looks like it’s filmed from some upper tier of seating . . .

Never been there, but isn’t it a tiny little building? Like seating capacity of 1,250 people or something like that? You’d think that even if the camera was as far away as possible it would still be real close, but I guess that’s just not the way it truly is.

Yes, It seats around 1,300 people. If you are there , in person, you have a great view of the game. The second deck is really like a balcony, with not many rows. One year, when UCONN came down to play them, the game was played at the Prudential Center in Newark. The fans only filled that gym to about 40% of capacity that day.
The Seton Hall men play some games in Newark, and draw larger crowds than the women do.

Knowing that playing UConn would fill the seats in any large stadium, I wonder why they did not move the game to the Prudential Center?

Watching games there brings back great memories for me. Growing up in North Jersey in the 1950's Seton Hall was my team. All their home games were televised, and the games were right there in Walsh Gym. The reception was not great, but not a whole lot worse than last night. They were among the best teams in the country in the early 50's, with Walter Dukes and Richie Regan as their top players. And hunched over a radio in my bed listening to away games. The way those radio announcers called the games gave a great picture of what was going on on the court.Those were the days!
