Ollie not one of them. Unbelievable.

Is it just me or has the national media just tuned out UConn this year because they're not eligible for the post season?

First Shabazz isn't one of the top 20 point guards. Still can't believe that one.

I just read an article today ranking the top 25 impact freshmen and Omar wasn't on there. I can't believe there are 25 freshmen making a bigger impact than Omar.

Next year UConn takes the college basketball world by storm and has everyone paying attention to them.

Seth Davis is a tool, he'll probably pick Roy Williams for coach of the year.

guys like Goodman and Gottlieb openly stated that UConn was irrelevant this year due to the ban, not a surprise to see what is happening in the media.

Statsheet has Omar #18 for freshman:

1 Ben McLemore 95.2 A
2 Marcus Smart 93.6 A
3 Anthony Bennett 93.2 A
4 Nerlens Noel 92 A
5 Isaiah Austin 90.1 A-
6 Glenn Robinson 3 89.9 B+
7 Shabazz Muhammad 89.2 B+
8 Nik Stauskas 88.9 B+
9 JaKarr Sampson 88.6 B+
10 Rasheed Sulaimon 88.3 B+
11 Gary Harris 87.5 B+
12 Jahii Carson 87.4 B+
13 Kyle Anderson 87.2 B+
14 Josh Scott 87 B
15 Jordan Adams 86.7 B
16 Archie Goodwin 86.6 B
17 T.J. Warren 85.4 B
18 Omar Calhoun 85 B

I got a kick out of Billy D, coach K and Boeheim. JB masterfully steering the team through a 2 week suspension. They went 4-2 without southerland.
What a job

KO should be on everyone's short list.

This team has had every excuse to pack it in and they have plated hard

Shabazz has played a bunch at the 2. Boat mainly at the 1. Maybe that's enough reason. Omar is a freshman. He's played like it a few times. He's not NBA ready like a few are. I'd give Davis a pass on that also. Not having KO near the very top for Coach of the Year, inexcusable.

Any list that doesn't have KO in at least their top 10, and probably top 5, candidates for NCOY is a joke. To say the post season ban is the reason is ridiculous. Inexcusable. I agree with the people who said the list is a joke.

This is the article I was reading.

http://insider.espn.go.com/mens-col...ing-top-25-freshmen-nation-college-basketball

It's an ESPN Insider's article.

Boatright started playing the 1 early in the year but since then Shabazz has mostly been at the 1 and Boatright at the 2. But seriously, can you really tell which one is which? They're both basically playing the 1/2 role that JC liked to employ.

Shabazz was on the original nominee list, http://www.cousyaward.com/nominees.php

Then wasn't on the 12 finalists list, http://www.cousyaward.com/finalists.php

So I doubt it's because they think he's been playing the 2 mostly.

For the freshman list, Ben McLemore and Jahii Carson both sat out last year because of academics, so I wouldn't classify them as freshman. And Noel can be dropped because he has no muscle in his knee.

Why was Ohio State football ranked high all season despite the post-season ban, yet UCONN barely got a sniff if the top 25 before losing and conveniently disappearing from the rankings and others receiving votes the rest of the season? UCONN has quality wins, quality close losses, and is in the top half of the BE yet gets no love from the voters. I think it's because they don't want to 'waste' a ranking on a team that can't play in the NCAA tourney and instead give it to a lesser team (read mid-major) to boost their tourney resume. It's straight BS. The 25 best teams should be the top 25 teams, period. Let's win the Big East regular season and tell the NCAA and other Big East schools that kept us out of the BE Tourney to suck it.

Just emailed Scum Davis. I begged for a response, so let's see if he avoids the questions at hand.

Email has been sent. BTW I've hated every single person named Seth that I have ever encountered in life.

Here's another nugget buried at the bottom of the article.

Yes, because Napier hasn't been averaging 4.5+ rebounds all season long.

Seth is just another ignorant reporter who lazily checks a few highlights and a few box scores and has made a living off of it.

UConn's backcourt duo of Ryan Boatright and Shabazz Napier get a lot of well-deserved praise, but 6-5 freshman Omar Calhoun has been playing as well as either of those guys the last few weeks. I love guards who can rebound.

I emailed him too.

Gottleib is an ESPN tool.

Doesn't anyone in Bristol support the State College?

At least Brent, who I hate, stood up for UConn last night.
