UConn at #25.

25. UConn
The Huskies will still be undermanned in the frontcourt, but they will be loaded on the perimeter with Shabazz Napier, Ryan Boatright and Omar Calhoun. DeAndre Daniels should also be vastly improved on the wing, and freshman Kentan Facey, a 6-8 forward from Glen Head, N.Y., will make the Huskies even more athletic.

I saw somewhere else we were around a 15 (USA Today?). they pretty much had the same logic though. One of the best college back courts in the country, good on the perimeter but big question marks up front.

suprised he mentioned Kelis Fisher, most of the national guys haven't even acknowledged him. I really think he's going to make alot of people take notice of him just off of his motor and athleticism, and like others have said he's not some raw guy lacking in skill, he can do quite a bit.

What's misleading about the whole "undermanned in the frontcourt" thing is that it only applies to the center position. Daniels plays the 4 for us, and most nights we are going to have a pretty big advantage at that spot.

Mike DeCourcy (Sporting News) and ESPN (Jason King) both had UConn 14th. None of the others I saw (CBSSports.com, RealGM and USA Today) had UConn ranked. Not a big deal. I think UConn is kind of off everyone's radar because of the post season ban. I kind of like it that way. Prove it on the court next year.

With both Louisville and Memphis rated in the top 10, Temple always good, UConn and UC , the inaugural AAC is going to be top heavy! I guess Rutgers makes up for the loss of the Friars.:)

Rebuilding year for Temple. They lose 4 of their 5 top players.

Rutgers and East Carolina should be good. They have good players coming back. Houston was awful this year but landed top recruits last year. Don't know why they didn't play well. Too many freshman? USF and UCF are enigmas.

This is why I laugh at preseason rankings:

16. Indiana
Yes, the Hoosiers are losing a lot, but this wasn't just a great team -- it's a great program.

UConn is a great program. We are not losing anyone.

Rutgers? , they may not have enough players to field a team. They are going to be an rpi killer.

This is so freaking ironic, it had to be on purpose. THEY WERE 6-25 2009, 10-21 2010, AND 12-20 IN 2011.

It is amazing how short the media's memory is.

You could have said the same thing about Ater Majok, no?

Anywhere between 15-25 seems about right to me. Frankly I'd put them about 20, but that's a generic "feeling" not based on any facts. And I also agree - off the radar is fine with me. KO got more out of those kids last year than I think any fan dreamed. Imagine what he can do with a more filled out roster!

I had never seen Majok play in a game or even highlight footage from games before UConn so I had no idea what to expect

Unbelievable. A great program that hasn't won a title in 25 years and hasn't been to the final four in over a decade. And after being horrific for three years, in their best season in a decade, they failed to advance past the sweet 16....what a powerhouse program.

They're losing their entire team.
