It wasn't detracting entirely but I thought at times it was a little too much. Sometimes made me lose the feel for the scene because it was serious and developing the story line and then lost with the attempt at humor. The lines from Han were appropriate due to his character and the stuff with the droid was good too but some of the stuff from Finn near the beginning of the movie was a bit over the top.
